Ranbir Kapoor is quite choosy when it comes to cinema and this is the reason why he does very less films compared to his competitors. The versatile superstar was last seen in Sanju that hit screens back in 2018 and it’s been more than two and half years since the film released. His next venture is Ayan Mukerji directorial Brahmastra which is a joint production of Dharma Productions and Fox Star Studios.
The fantasy action-fantasy film is in making from the last three years and after many postponements, Brahmastra was finally scheduled to release on December 4th but it has got delayed once again due to the ongoing pandemic. Amidst all this, a major OTT platform recently offered a mammoth price to lock the deal with Karan Johar but the filmmaker has reportedly turned down the offer of direct digital release saying a film of this magnitude can be best enjoyed only on the big screens.
For the unaware, Brahmastra is a trilogy revolving around Indian mythology and it’s one of the costliest project of Indian cinema. Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the film’s star cast also includes Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Akkineni Nagarjuna in other key roles. This is not all, even Shah Rukh Khan will also be seen in a cameo appearance and he has already shot for his portions.
Ranbir Kapoor also has Yash Raj Films’ Shamshera lined up to release next year which is again one of the costliest venture of Bollywood. Shamshera, period action-adventure drama film set in the 1800s, revolves around dacoits where Sanjay Dutt is playing the antagonist. With two of India’s biggest projects scheduled to release next year, looks like 2021 will be game-changer for Ranbir Kapoor.
